In a first for the Pasko Festival, 7000 Islands' has been invited by Philippine Community Council of NSW to participate this 2022, and are looking forwarding to suggesting wine pairings to visitors to our stall.
Pasko Festival returns to Sydney, after a 2 year hiatus from covid. "Pasko" meaning ‘Christmas’ in Tagalog (Filipino). Expected numbers of visitors to this FREE two-day event is around 80,000 people this 2022 year.
It's fitting that Christmas is starting early in Darling Harbour with the Philippine Christmas Festival returning to Tumbalong Park on 22 & 23 October 2022 this year. Experience Filipino food, watch the "Parol" (Christmas lantern) making contest, and more there's something for all to enjoy.
Filipino Food to try
Lechon - reserved for feasts and celebrations, whole charcoal-roasted suckling pig, served sliced and crispy
Adobo - the national dish, a deeply marinated dish with vinegar, soy, garlic and chillies, packed with deep umami flavours
Halo-Halo - Philippines favourite dessert, fine ice shavings mixed colourfully layered with sweat red beans, coconut, mangoes, ube (vanilla in taste, naturally purple in colour), topped with dirty ice cream and a drizzle of evaporated milk(tasters will be asked to provide identification for ).
